Instructions
Bake the Cake:
Preheat your oven according to the directions on the cake mix box. Use any size pan you would like or cupcakes could be fun, too.
Bake as directed, then allow it to cool completely.
Frost the Cake:
Once the cake is cooled, spread an even layer of chocolate frosting over the surface.
Make the Oreo Dirt:
Place Oreo cookies in a plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor to create the "dirt."
*I like to use my Rotary Grater for this step but if you don’t have that whatever you come up with is fine.
Sprinkle the Oreo "dirt" over the entire cake, focusing more on the graveyard section.
Create the "Grass":
In a bowl, mix the shredded coconut with a few drops of green food coloring until it resembles grass.
Sprinkle the green coconut over one corner or section of the cake to represent a grassy patch.
Tombstones:
Use black gel icing to write “RIP” or other spooky messages on the tops of the Milano cookies.
Press the Milano cookies into the Oreo "dirt" to stand upright like tombstones.
Build the Fence:
Break Kit-Kats into individual sticks and place them around the edges of the cake as the fence.
Decorate the Graveyard:
Scatter candy bones around the tombstones for extra spookiness.
Place candy pumpkins around the fence or tombstones for decoration.
Finishing Touches:
Add more Oreo "dirt" around the tombstones for a freshly dug grave effect, and scatter a few candy bones on top.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
