Sausage Delight

This delightful recipe, made with store-bought crescent rolls, sausage, and cream cheese, is a gem that has graced my family’s table for decades. Special thanks to the generosity of my co-worker, Greg, and his wife, Melissa for sharing this with me. Irresistible Sausage Delight

Picture this: it’s snack day at work, and Greg arrives with a tray of irresistible Sausage Delight. The aroma alone is enough to captivate everyone’s attention, and one bite seals the deal. We were so enamored by this savory delight that we couldn’t resist begging Greg for the recipe. Lucky for us, Melissa graciously shared the secret behind this mouthwatering creation, and it has been a treasured family favorite ever since.

Ingredients for Sausage Delight

  • 2 cans crescent rolls (get the sheets If you can)
  • 1lb sausage cooked and drained
  • 8oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Spray bottom of 9×13 pan with oil.
  3. Spread 1 can of crescent rolls on bottom of pan, pinching together seams (if you have the sheets you can skip this part).
  4. Bake for 8-9 minutes.
  5. Mix cooked sausage and cream cheese and spread over baked crescent crust.
  6. Spread second can of crescents over sausage mixture, pinching at seams.
  7. Brush top with egg.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 egg beaten

Easy breakfast idea perfect for Christmas morning or holiday parties. If you bring this to a gathering you won’t be taking home any leftovers. Speaking of leftovers- it does reheat so if you make it for breakfast it can last a couple of days in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.     I have made this every year for our Christmas appetizer. I should say this is our go to for a simple appetizer for every get together.

    Note- never heard of putting egg on top. Will have to try that next time. We use Bob Evans sausage. Original or spicy depending your preference and if you can get it. 😉
