To make this shepherd’s pie recipe, start by browning ground beef with onion powder and garlic powder. Then, add in some tomato soup, water, gravy mix, and frozen mixed vegetables for added flavor and nutrition. Top it all off with a generous layer of creamy mashed potatoes and shredded cheddar cheese then bake until golden and bubbly. The result is a hearty and satisfying meal that’s sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients for Shepherd’s Pie

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 packet of brown gravy mix
  • 1 can (10.75oz) of tomato soup
  • ½ cup of water
  • 12 oz bag frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce 
  • 3-4 cups of mashed potatoes (homemade, instant, or store-bought)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Brown the meat in a pan over medium heat while seasoning with onion and garlic powder
  3. Drain
  4. Stir in the tomato soup, brown gravy mix, water, frozen vegetables, and Worcestershire sauce  
  5. Mix until everything is well combined 
  6. If your pan is not an oven-safe pan, transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish
  7. Top with mashed potatoes being careful not to mix the potatoes into the meat
  8. Finally, add the shredded cheese on top
  9. Bake 15-20 minutes until it begins to bubble
  10. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes just until brown
  11. Top with parsley if desired

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef

    Yummy! Not only is this insanely easy, but it’s also insanely delicious! I used ground turkey breast instead of beef to keep it a bit healthier, along with Healthy Request tomato soup and reduced fat cheese. Baked in a rectangular glass dish, we have enough for amazing leftovers! Thanks for this winner, Jamie!
