Easy Lasagna Recipe

This recipe layers rich and savory flavors for a lasagna that tastes like it’s been simmering all day. The combination of seasoned ground beef, creamy ricotta cheese, and a blend of mozzarella and parmesan creates a decadent filling that pairs perfectly with the tender lasagna noodles.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Lasagna

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 TBSP Italian seasoning, divided
  • 15 oz container of ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 24 oz jar of pasta sauce
  • 8-12 oven-ready lasagna noodles (uncooked)

Instructions

Meat Sauce:

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat
  2. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  3. Once the meat is no longer pink, remove from the heat and drain the grease
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan with the meat
  5. Add ½ cup of water to thin out the sauce (the extra liquid will be absorbed by the pasta when cooking)

Into your slow cooker, layer in this order:

  • ⅓  of meat sauce 
  • ⅓ of the noodles, breaking to fit
  • half of the ricotta and 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ⅓ of the mozzarella and parmesan
  • Repeat these layers again
  • Now add another layer of noodles
  • The remaining meat sauce 
  • Reserve remaining mozzarella and parmesan

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Cook for 3 hours on high
  2. Top with remaining cheese and cover
  3. Cook for 15 additional minutes
