Ingredients for Slow Cooker Sausage and Peppers

  • 1lb smoked turkey sausage cut into 2-inch pieces *double the meat to make it High Protein
  • 2-3 Bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 Onion, sliced *make it Insanely Easy – use a 22oz bag of frozen peppers and onions
  • 28oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 TBSP Garlic, minced
  • 1 TBSP Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • Rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients except rice into your slow cooker. 
  2. Cook on High for 3 hours or low for 5 hours. 
  3. Prepare rice according to package directions. 
  4. Serve slow cooker sausage and peppers over rice. 

Meal Prep Instructions

Prepare

  1. Label gallon-size freezer bag. 
  2. Combine all ingredients except rice into the freezer bag.  
  3. Seal the bag and freeze.

To Cook

  1. Thaw 12-24 hours in the refrigerator. Cook in the crockpot on High for 3-4 hours or low 5-6 hours. 
  2. Prepare rice according to package directions.
  3. Serve slow cooker sausage and peppers over cooked rice
